Clinicians report difficulty staying current with lipid management guidelines and post-stent protocols while managing full patient panels. University of Iowa and Iowa State programs maintain most research capacity, but distance learning platforms have not been adapted for low-bandwidth delivery.
The funding supports digital platforms that meet Iowa's rural broadband realities by prioritizing asynchronous modules and offline-capable applications. Applicants must partner with at least one critical access hospital in a county designated as medically underserved by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
